The Texans Chiefs game was totally unwatchable. I had to turn it off. And I could give two craps about either team. The “two hands in the air” Mahomes was brutal.
I have to heartily disagree on “call fewer penalties at the end of the game”. Nope. Precisely because the calls are somewhat subjective and differ from crew to crew, each crew on a given day should strive to call the game consistently for all four quarters. That way, come crunch time, the players should know what is going to get flagged and what will slide.
I mostly watch college ball and the Big Ten officials are awful about “turning off” offensive holding for the trailing team in the 4th quarter. “We don’t want to change the outcome”. Bullshit, if you let a team mount a comeback drive by bear hugging Aidan Hutchinson on every play, you’ve changed the outcome just as much as if you call a ticky-tack DPI.
And it’s more nuanced than “just call less”. Sometimes players abuse the fact that they know refs don’t want to seem “unbalanced”, so they can get away with more if the other team hasn’t been penalized much. Some players grab or push off on every play, knowing that no ref has the balls to call it *every* time, and they already let the last one go…
I do agree with you though that DPI on an arm punt is stupid. The DB should have the right to his own momentum, and if he bumps a guy that screeches to a halt for a ball 10 yards behind him, play on. “Uncatchable” should be called far more often. Maybe there should be a rule that on a “jump ball”, PI is off for unintentional contact by the defender. But it’s tricky, you don’t want to enable defenders to just always run their man over at the end of every route.

The Mahomes flop was enraging. Dishonorable. I feel compelled to write something about it
And no mention of the new Number One Advertiser in "professional sports" - Gambling
Should have known it was written by an aggrieved Cowboys fan 🤦♂️
I like this article. I quite watching nfl after lions go 0-16 and the whole “football move” nonsense.

Only faggots watch football.
Wait, so Gene Centaur screwed the Cowboys out of a playoff win one time?
I like him even more now!
